THEY ONLY KILL THEIR MASTERS
James Garner, an easy-going police chief in a small California town, returns home from vacation to find that a local girl has washed up on the beach, her faithful Doberman named "Murphy" at her side, her body covered with dog bites. The jumpy local sheriff blames the doberman, but Garner suspects otherwise.  There is a chemistry among all the actors that keep the movie together. I read lately that this was the last movie that this particular movie company made before the back lot was bulldozed for another use.
